Nannies in Calgary Can Help Set Parents Free

You’re done with the work week, and you have some options in front of you.  Have a date night with your spouse and go see a nice movie (and/or dine at a restaurant) or have a girls’ or boys’ night out with your work buddies?  Either option sounds good, but there’s one little problem – your little ones.  Who’s going to take care of them?  That’s why nannies in Calgary are so important.

Lest I be misconstrued, when I say “set parents free”, this doesn’t give you carte blanche to party, party, party or work, work, work and hardly set foot in the house.  Nannies are there to guide your children when you’re working – or releasing stress by doing fun things with your better half or with your friends.  One good way to search for qualified nannies is by calling your nearest nanny services in Calgary.  These special placement agencies don’t hire any nanny for the job – they usually prioritize experience and skill, which should give you some much-needed peace of mind.  You don’t want to take your chances on the neighbor’s teenage daughter all the time – experienced Calgary nannies are always a much safer choice.

Why miss out on the good times that can be spent outside of the house when you can refer to nanny services in Calgary to provide someone that can be trusted?  Nannies in Calgary can free you up to pull an overtime shift, attend a business meeting or simply enjoy yourself away from the workplace, even if there are no other adult relatives in the house.

Disciplining Naughty Kids – The Toughest Part of a Calgary Nanny’s Job

Keeping those unruly tykes under control is the part of our job we dread the most.

Let’s not get into the topic of “Kids were different in our time”, because young children will always have that appetite for mischief.  They will invariably take advantage of the fact their parents are not around, and they may test our patience a lot.  But that is where discipline comes in, and there’s no way to understate its importance for nannies in Calgary – or anywhere else in the world.

The first step, really, is to let the child know that “no means no.”  Yes, it sounds like a tongue-twister of sorts, but it’s a tried and tested tool that can prove effective when trying to instill discipline.  Let the child know the consequences of their actions, using words they can understand.  Withhold TV privileges or give them the old “time out” if you catch them running around, making a scene or acting disruptive in some form or fashion.  It’s quite simple if you think about it at first.

But then again, it isn’t.  It can be very frustrating when time outs and withheld privileges don’t produce their desired effect.  But at the end of the day, it’s what makes work as a Calgary nanny very fulfilling.  You’re acting as a “third parent” to these children, and one day they may remember you as adults and thank you for putting up with their shenanigans.
